5 Ways Your Company Can Give Back To Your Employees This Season

The holiday season is a busy time for many people and many companies. During this time of year, it is a good idea to show your staff how much you appreciate them. After all, they are taking time out of their busy holiday season to devote precious moments to your goals and initiatives. On top of that, it is a good time to recognize a job well done throughout the rest of the year. Here are a few meaningful ways you can say thanks to your staff this holiday season.

1. Holiday Bonus

One of the most common ways companies show their appreciation during the holiday season is by giving a bonus. If it is in your budget, a monetary bonus is always a great way to give back. Your employees will always appreciate a bonus to show how much their hard work has paid off. Not to mention, during the season, most employees could use extra money for gifts and other holiday-related expenses.

2. Offer Flexibility

Another great thing employers can consider offering during the holiday season is flexible work options. Many employees will be feeling additional personal pressure during this time of year. So, giving them some flexibility in their work schedule can help them balance it all. Give them a half-day or extra day off each week to attend to family matters. Allow them to come in earlier or later to be able to spend time with family. You may even want to offer them remote work options as well. Many employees have found they have a better work-life balance working from home.

3. Say Thanks

It is always a good time to express your appreciation, but the holidays are an especially great time to show your employees gratitude. What better way to do that than a hand-written thank you note? While thank you cards may not seem like a lot, they can provide your staff with the recognition and motivation they need in the workplace. If hand-written notes aren’t your thing, send them a digital e-card.

4. Give a Gift That Inspires

Instead of giving your employees fruit baskets every year, think about what may inspire them. A nice leather-bound notebook for their work, a new planner, a nice pen, or a work-related gift can help motivate them in the workplace. They will be able to use what you give them to organize themselves or do small tasks.

5. Treat Them to Something

Treat your staff to something outside the workplace. This can be lunch or an activity of some sort. You may consider purchasing your employees a fun course to take or tickets to local attractions. Whatever the gift may be, it shows them that you value them outside the job. It also gives them some time to unplug during the busiest season of the year and enjoy whatever activity you have set up.
